For the
Love
of
BOOKS
For quality second-hand books at "I'll be back for more" prices as well as collector's items, "good for one more read" bargains and a selection of new books focusing on children's books and local authors.
Thank you for visiting our website!

We look forward to welcoming you at our spacious and inviting Bookstore in Featherston in the beautiful Wairarapa, where we offer a wide selection of second-hand books.

OUR BOOKSHOP
Our vision is to have a second-hand bookshop that feels spacious and inviting. A second-hand bookshop that is accessible, well organised and easy to navigate.

We have purposely kept the space between our shelves as wide as possible, and kept the shelves that aren't against the wall low enough to be able to keep a line of sight throughtout the shop.
We have couches and seats here and there around the shop so you can take the time to browse a book in comfort - or for friends and family to wait while you keep treasure hunting!
We have a play area for children who need some diversion so that their carers can browse at their leisure. The play area gate can be closed for little ones so you know where they are. Our aquarium is also an attraction that tends to keep children occupied!

If you feel a sense of "ahhh" when you come through our doors and wish you could stay longer, then please take the time to leave us a review to let us know that we have succeeded!

OUR BOOKS

Our books are cleaned, repaired (where needed and where possible) and categorised to help you find what you are looking for.

Our fiction books are sorted into genre, and then shelved alphabetically by author, to not only help you find your favourite author, but also make it easy to try a new author from within a genre that you enjoy.

Our non-fiction books are sorted into clearly marked categories including History, Biographies, People & Places, War & Military, Technical & Engineering, Travel & Exploration, Science & Technology, Nature & the Natural World, Health, Religion & Spirituality, Cooking, Gardening, Art, Craft and Music. We also have a large New Zealand section.

We offer a teen fiction section and a children's book section which includes chapter books, picture books, non-fiction books and vintage chlidren's books.

To round it all off we have a selection of NEW books, Focusing on (NZ) children's books and local authors.

OUR PRICES

We are doing this "For the Love of BOOKS". We'd rather that our books find a new owners who will appreciate them than that they stay on our shelves to get a higher price We also need to make sure that we have a sustainable business so we do our best to keep our prices as low and as fair as we can.

Our books are priced with coloured dots on the spine or, in the case of NEW books, a brown dot and a price dot on the top right of the front cover. The key to the pricing system can be found throughout the store.

The price dots we use most often for second-hand books are yellow, green and blue - $4, $5 and $6 respectively.
Collectible and rare books are researched and priced at the lower end of their value range.

NEW books are priced below the Recommended Retail Price (RRP) whenever possible.
